Barbara V. Lam
Barbara is a disability attorney who practices in the area of Social Security disability law. She is committed to personal and professional ethics in her practice.
Barbara assists clients in appealing Social Security disability denials, as well as representing clients through the disability hearing process. She has been successful with helping clients win their disability claims.
Barbara attended the University of California, Los Angeles and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics/International Area Studies in 1995. She obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2003, where she was also awarded the William P. Cunningham Award for Exceptional Achievement and Service.
During law school, Barbara provided legal services to low-income wage earners, as well as having served as a legal intern with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and the U.S. Department of Justice.
Prior to joining Don Pilzer, PC, in 2011, Barbara practiced as a litigation attorney in Los Angeles focusing on medical service reimbursement issues. There, she represented clients in arbitrations, mediations, state and federal court proceedings, as well as before state and federal administrative law proceedings.
Barbara is admitted to practice law in the state of California and before all Social Security Administrative courts. She is also a sustaining member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives (NOSSCR).
